Hello, I am Gabriel
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Annecy, France.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and lofty expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Gradually, habits formed. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Harvest Field Way
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Real-world insights from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review site
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Annecy or anywhere in France, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Gabriel
